Nexus 9 on T-Mobile gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

T-Mobile carrier is now officially rolling out Nougat update for Google Nexus 9 users. Another good thing is this old version tablet directly receives android 7.1.1 version and skips 7.0 version. Currently this nougat (7.1.1) version is installed only on Google Pixel series mobiles. Now the nexus users can also experience the new features that spotted on Pixel mobiles. The tmobile carrier has updated this information on the Google Nexus 9 software update page.

As mentioned this update brings December security patch, android 7.1.1 nougat os version and bug fixes. Unfortunately the carrier didn’t provide the full changelog for nexus 9 tablet. The nougat update includes new Google assistant, multi screen feature, VR support, direct boot, added restart option, data saver, improved doze mode, lock screen quick reply for notifications, GIF keyboard and more features. T-Mobile will push this software update through OTA on batch wise. So the firmware may take some time to hit your tablet based on your location. You can also check for manual update from Settings > System > About Tablet.
