As scheduled, Today Xiaomi India’s no.1 selling brand has announced a new entry level smartphone in Redmi series for Indian market. They’ve named this budget handset as Redmi 5, successor of Redmi 4. The Redmi 5 smartphone will be exclusively launch in India via amazon online retailer. Xiaomi has planned to roll out this device in Indian market from March 20. The users can register their email id to receive the sales notification.

The redmi 5 has 5.7-inch HD+ with 18:9 aspect ratio and the front part has been covered with 2.5D curved glass. It equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 entry-level chipset and 1.8 GHz octa core processor. It will be available in three variants – 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB. It sports hybrid sim slot which means you can either use nano sim + micro sim or micro sim + microSD card.

It arrives with android 7.1.2 as pre-installed os and uses Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 9. It has 12MP main camera at back which includes PDAF sensor, f2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and more. Also has 5MP front facing camera for perfect selfies. Both cameras have dedicated led flash to enhance low light photos.

Down to the back camera, they’ve placed the fingerprint sensor which adds more security to this device. Other preloaded features are Wifi, Bluetooth 4.2, 4G LTE, GPS, Micro USB 2.0 and more. Talking about battery, it packed with 3300 mAh (non-removable) which compatible with 5V/2A fast charging support. It will launch in four optional colors – Black, Gold, Lake Blue and Rose Gold.

At this launch event, Xiaomi has also revealed the pricing options for all the three storage versions.
