Sony has confirmed that the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia Tablet S which launched last September. Sony Xperia Tablet S is running on Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich and now Sony announces Android 4.1.2 update which also fixes some issues.

The upgrade should bring some improvements, including Project Butter performance enhancements and Google Now integration. Sony says that the Jelly Bean update will resolve this memory management issue which causes the Xperia Tablet to shut down from time to time and unstable Wi-Fi connections. Many users of the Sony Xperia Tablet S are awaiting for this update.

Sony says that the update will coming to the Sony Xperia Tablet S by the end of April / early May but at the same time there is no update for Sony Table S.
