Sony introduced a new Xperia ZR waterproof smartphone to lineup its Xperia family. Sony Xperia ZR is just like Xperia Z, with water, dust resistant and similar compact design.

The features of Xperia ZR are Sony’s Exmor RS for mobile image sensor with HDR (High Dynamic Range) for both photos and videos, the waterproof capabilities to  shoot videos in Full HD or snap pictures underwater, capturing the sharpest visuals. Sony Xperia ZR has super-sharp 4.6 inch HD Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 using the contrast enhancement technology and beautifully designed with OptiContrast panel which delivers high quality viewing experience. Battery STAMINA Mode which significantly improves the standby time of smartphone. The WALKMAN applications enable discovery of online and offline content through a single access point, Movies application provides unlimited videos and Album application to access Facebook photos and browsing photos by location.

Sony Xperia ZR has Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, 13 Megapixels fast-capture camera with Exmor RS, and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), LTE support.

The Xperia ZR will available in Black and white colors and it will expect to launch in various global markets from Q2 2013.
