Samsung is now rolling out November month security patch for S8 and S8 Plus Canadian units. The update is available for all carrier based models like Bell, Telus, Rogers, SaskTel etc. It will not make any change in android version which will remains at 7.0. It will just update security patch level of this device to November month. The software version of this update for S8 and S8+ will be in G950WVLU2AQK7 and G955WVLU2AQK7.

This firmware totally fixes 61 security vulnerabilities in android os and 6 issues in Samsung software. The latest update will also patch the Krack Wifi security issue. The Canadian users can catch up this security update via OTA. If the update didn’t knock your device then initiate manual update from Settings > About phone > Software update > Download updates manually. You can also download the OTA firmware as zip from third party sites and flash it on your device.

We already know Samsung is currently testing the Android 8.0 Oreo update for S8 and S8+ handsets. via beta program. Recently they’ve released the Oreo Beta 3 phase in U.S. Soon the fans can taste the stable version of Oreo update in the upcoming months.
