After upgrading the Android One variant, Motorola has started to update Moto X4 global versions to Android 8.0 Oreo. Right now the firmware update is available for Indian units. Unlike android one, the software version for regular Moto X4 will arrive as OPW27.2. The screenshot reveals the download size of this update as 1138.6 MB (1.1GB) and will be available via OTA.

For now the update has reached only small number of users which means they were pushing this update in phases. What’s new in Android Oreo? It includes new features like Picture-in-Picture mode, enhanced battery saver mode, notification dots, smart text selection, autofill and more are there.

Along with oreo features the update will also install the December security patch, bug fixes and improves the system stability. Still you didn’t receive the prompt for Oreo update then initialize it from your side via Settings > System > System updates. Once the update is available download and enjoy the Oreo features on your device. Soon the company will expand these roll out to other regions in the upcoming days.
