Huawei has released new software update for Honor 9i smartphone in India. Wait it’s not Oreo upgrade, it includes bug fixes, enhancements and latest security patch for this device. This latest firmware arrives with new version RNE-L22C675B151CUSTC675D001. Also it didn’t made any changes in android and EMUI versions which will remain at Nougat 7.0 and EMUI 5.1.

• Updates the android security patch level to January 1 2018

• Fixes Youtube fit issue

These are the changes that are mentioned on the release notes. This enhancement update weighs in large 569 MB. Honor 9i users will receive this software update through OTA. Because of its size, Huawei recommend users to download this update using WiFi network. It will not delete any of your personal files, but for safety backup your files to removal storage. It’s not sure whether the update will patch the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities or not. According to Google, security patch with January 5 2018 will carry the fix for these security bugs.
